What can I expect from my stay in an eco cottage?
All eco-cottages have been traditionally handcrafted using natural materials with minimal impact on the surrounding environment. Purposefully designed as a practical and sustainable way to live as close to the earth as possible, you will experience living wide open to the jungle and the symphony of its inhabitants in a simple, comfortable and refreshing manner. From frogs in the toilet to trees in the bedroom, we are not sanitized from the jungle, rather we are part of it.
What amenities are provided in the room?
Every cottage has its own individual garden terrace surrounded by the serenity of nature and includes an en suite private washroom with an open air shower for bathing under the trees. All cottages are deliberately minimalist in design and have fans, plug points, lamps, mosquito nets and beds. We do not use air conditioners, geysers, microwaves, television sets and other appliances that may disturb you or the life around.
Are the bathrooms private?
Yes, all of our cottages are provided with private and fully enclosed en suite bathrooms for complete privacy during your stay.
Is room service provided?
Yes we can provide fresh sheets, towels and blankets. Hot water can also be provided for bathing with prior notice.
Is there a laundry service available?
Yes, Laundry service is available at an additional cost.
Is there access to wifi in the jungle?
Yes, we have a very good connection available onsite for all guests & residents to use whenever they may require.
Is there phone signal in the jungle?
Yes, there is a good Jio signal, limited Vodafone and Airtel is inconsistent.
Is there a taxi/pick up service provided?
Yes with prior notice we can send a driver to collect and drop you safely to and from the centre. We highly recommend sending a driver who knows the area and especially at night to avoid adding any undesirable complications to your journey. This service is provided at an additional cost.

Can I become a resident in the ecovillage?
Yes anyone who is interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and becoming a resident has the opportunity to have a long term rental/ lease agreement.

Is there cooking facilities in the eco cottage?
Yes, for long term rentals a private kitchen is provided in the room for an additional charge.
Can I grow my own vegetables?
Yes, every eco-home has the space to grow your own private kitchen garden. For an additional charge, we can provide the space, plants, soil supplements and compost to grow your own herbs, vegetables, medicinal plants and ornamental plants.
Is there a dedicated work space for freelancers or working from home?
Yes, our solar centre has ample space and good wifi for working.
LIVING IN THE JUNGLE
Is it safe to be in the jungle?
Yes, it is completely safe here, we have many residents living on site all year round. If this is your first experience of being in the jungle, it takes just a couple of nights to acclimatize and feel right at home.
What if I need to go out in an emergency?
We are not located too far from civilization and there are many drivers, rickshaws and vehicle rental available locally. The management and other eco-village residents live on-site and are available in case of any genuine emergency.
What to bring?
- Comfortable clothing.
- Warmer clothing, especially in Winter as it does get cool in the evenings.
- Mosquito Repellent.
- Torch and batteries.
- Personal reusable water bottle.
- Personal cosmetics, shampoos & medication.
- Comfortable footwear with a good grip for walking.
- During the monsoon bring a raincoat or umbrella.
COVID POLICY
Do you need a covid negative test to come to the centre?
No, we do not ask for a covid negative certificate to come to the centre but we do follow the current government guidelines and recommendations for keeping our guests, residents and staff safe.
Is Khaama Kethna a safe place to stay and live during the pandemic?
Yes it is, We are blessed to have a large and open air property so with no confined spaces, the risks of transmitting the virus are much less than in a regular concrete building or enclosed space. With over 12 acres of pristine jungle all of our cottages are spread out far and wide so minimal interaction is required with other visitors or residents. As we are primarily focused on longer term stays we have less people coming through the centre to help keep the environment covid free.
Is it safe to do programs & workshops?
Yes, the safety of everyone at the centre is the highest priority and all of our workshops, programs and retreats are carried out with social distancing and all other necessary precautions in place.

LOCATION
Where is Khaama Kethna Sustainable Holistic Centre located?
We are located in the jungles of Agonda, South Goa. Here is a link to the location on google maps.
How far is the centre from the Beach?
The centre is very close to the beach and both Agonda and Butterfly Beaches are in walking distance.
Is there any shops, restaurants and amenities nearby?
Yes, there are vegetable shops, general stores, ATMs, a wide selection of restaurants and tourist shops just a few minutes’ drive away at Agonda Beach. For larger vegetable market, supermarket, banking, pharmacy and other more specific requirements the town of Chaudi is just 10 minutes drive away.
What is the best way to get around?
In the local village of Agonda scooters, bicycles and motor vehicles are available for hire. There are also lots of taxis and auto-rickshaws available locally if and when required.
How to find Khaama Kethna coming from Agonda Beach side?
We are easily reached in 5 minutes by vehicle from Agonda Beach to Khaama Kethna. PLEASE NOTE! Google maps do NOT recognise our road so we highly recommend you use these directions.
At the T-junction next to the church in Agonda, follow the road away from the beach. Keep going until you reach the T-junction, opposite the garage, and turn right onto the main road 49. After about half a kilometre look for the right turn opposite a bus stop. There are signs to Khaama Kethna, Blue Planet and Yogdan. Take this right turn, it is a dirt road. Follow it right, with the fields on your right. Keep going past Blue Planet Café down a small slope and past the low tree branch. You will see Yogdan to your right across the river, continue and the road curves left. You will see a right fork to the car parking, but continue keeping left and you will see the Khaama Kethna sign above the gate.
How to find Khaama Kethna from Madgaon (North side)?
PLEASE NOTE! Google maps do NOT recognise our road. Please use these directions and do not follow the google map directions.
Leave the main road 66 (from either Canacona or Margao) and join the road to Agonda (49). You will see the left turn for Leopard Valley, but please ignore this turn and keep going. As you approach Agonda you will pass Wild Berry Resort on your right; shortly after it look for the dirt road on the left. It is signed to Khaama Kethna, Blue Planet and Yogdan. Continue on this road. Go past Blue Planet Café down a small slope and past the low tree branch. You will see Yogdan to your right across the river, continue and the road curves left. You will see a right fork to the car parking, but continue keeping left and you will see the Khaama Kethna sign above the gate.
MONSOON
Is the centre open during monsoon?
Yes, we are open all year round and the monsoon is the most magical time to visit the jungles of Goa.
Are there lots of rain?
Yes at times there can be heavy showers with some dry spells also throughout the day. It can be wet and wild at times but it is a truly unforgettable experience for the adventurous nature lovers.
Will it be wet in the cottages?
No, all of our eco-cottages are monsoon proof and will remain dry inside.
